This is a rare reversal in the R+D series where we went back to explore the West Coast style of IPA again. We kept some dry hopping techniques of the East Coast but flavor profile of the West. With a little more malt sweetness backing up the big hop flavor we find ourselves with an aroma of bright orange and tangerine, backed by some pine and hints of tropical fruits. The flavor is a balance of malt and bitterness with zesty orange and white grapefruit throughout. Don’t worry, NE IPAs will be back, but for a bitter cold spring this beer is the perfect thing to get us through.
